Engineering is in Her Blood
Meet Kathy Moseley, the Vice President of Operations at CVA Outdoors.
But don’t get it twisted. She’s not a pen-pusher. She’s actually the creative genius behind our line of home decor items. (As well as our corporate chef.)
It goes without saying — Kathy is what makes this little operation more special than any other local brand. Not only can she design, cook and create, she’s a straight-up worker.
Ever since Kathy was a child she’s been taking things apart and putting them back together. Fixing things is in her blood. We mean that literally. Her dad is a retired engineer. Guess you you could say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
If you ever want to take a look at some of Kathy’s projects you can always visit our website and Facebook pages. She’s refinished and created over a hundred different home decor projects over that last ten years.
As we’ve developed the CVA Outdoors platforms part of our mission has been to introduce Kathy’s designs. And we’re now pleased to announce that we’ve reached that point. So keep your eyes on our design-star as we continue to showcase her creative works.
When Kathy isn’t performing the duties of a Nabisco sales rep during the day she’s smoking pork butts listening to classic rock while sipping on Pinot Grigio. And if she’s not doing that she’s sanding slabs of cedar or cuddling with her four cats named Deuce, Havoc, Ladie and GreyGoose.
Fun Fact: Kathy was a gymnast out in Texas as a child and where she was instructed by Mary Lou Retton’s gymnast Coach, Béla Károlyi
Clay
Meet Clay Moseley. The highly imaginative Producer behind CVA Outdoors.
Moseley grew up off Beach Road located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He’s the youngest son (of three children).
From a young age Moseley’s passion has always been to create, learn, work, spend time outdoors.
Central Virginia Hunting & Fishing Marketing
In 2009 Moseley graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Mass Communications. From there he would perfect his craft of story telling through the use of media.
Video editing, website development, audio mastering and social media marketing are his strong suits in the field of digital marketing.
In 2017 Moseley launched CVA Outdoors — a local, social-media-driven outdoor-living type of online magazine made for smart, down-to-earth men and women that embrace hunting & fishing.
Today, Moseley’s engineered a library of social media assets that’ve reached more than 100,000 views. And in the process, Moseley has worked closely with a team of special, talented outdoor-sportsmen that most content creators could never conceive as possible.
When Clay isn’t selling wheels and tires he’s hunting, fishing, writing articles, editing videos, cutting grass or burning a pile of brush.
Moseley has a loving wife named Kathy who he’s been married to for 19 years (and one of the best cooks in the county) and a son, Casey; a United States Marine.
Fun Fact: When Moseley was in high school, his drawings were displayed in the Governors’ Mansion located in Richmond, Virginia.
Bobby

Top-Water Tank Specialist
Meet Bobby Mitchell, a Central Virginia local who’s been raising eyebrows when it comes to top-water bass fishing. Mitchell is 42-years-old, he was born in Petersburg, Va but raised a Colonial Heights man.
Mitchell works for HandCraft as a truck driver, he’s been married 14 years to Erica Mitchell and together they have two boys and two girls. Needless to say, Mitchell is a busy man.
Growing up, Mitchell spent most of his weekends on Lake Chesdin snatching up largemouths with his fishing family at Leonard’s campground. Mitchell (and his older brothers) have dedicated much of their time towards hunting and fishing. Bruce Mitchell, their dad, played a major role in Bobby’s success on the water.
It’s worth noting, Bruce is not only his dad, but his best friend, tournament partner and the man that taught Bobby just about everything he knows about bass fishing.
Mitchell says he been blessed to put his hands on many trophy bass in recent years. And we know this is true, because we’ve been following Bobby Mitchell’s work closely. That’s why we reached out to Mitchell about becoming a field staff expert. His body of work is impressive and we know he has much to offer the Central Virginia outdoors community.
Bobby Mitchell is a hammer; keep your eye on him and we encourage you ask him any questions you may have about bass fishing. You never know, he might share a few of his family’s secrets.
When Mitchell isn’t working or fishing he’s hanging out with his kids (who also enjoy fishing). And a fact that some folks do not know is, not only can Bobby Mitchell catch monsters, but he’s also nasty with a skateboard and snowboard.
Bobby Mitchells’ Favorite Type of Fishing: The topwater bite. Mitchell is a strong advocate of the swim-bait. He adamantly states that, “Nothing loads up better on a rod than a swim-bait fish.” So if you want a big girl, you best be reaching for a Bull-Shad.
