After multiple discussions with friends, we found much of what we’ve discussed here in this article. It’s regarding the conversion of an AR-15 556/223 to a Grendel. Most of the guys around here are from Virginia. But if you’re new and you need the tips, there’s a also a great link at the bottom that’ll get you going on understanding the conversion.
But we’ll start with the nuts and bolts.
When it comes rifles, like many, hunting with shotguns was the only thing I knew. There was no knowledge other than plinking beer cans with an old bolt-action twenty-two.
Since I grabbed a Smith & Wesson M&P II sport a couple years back, I figured I’d play catch up with the boys. The boys at the hunt club turned me onto researching either a Grendel 6.5 or Blackout 300.
On that note, we’re not going to waste any time talking a about. Go here: excellent primer and starter guide on the Grendel 6.5
Takeaways
The 6.5 Creedmor requires an AR-10 lower receiver. These 6.5’s are not the same.
You can convert your AR-15 into a 6.5 Grendel using a Grendle upper with your existing AR-15 lower.
Other Possible AR-15 Setups
– 6.8 SPC II
* There may be others, but this is where we started.
Many thanks to Sean, Hal & David for the research. Appreciate it.
