Dogs on Private Property Jeopardize Virginia Tradition

Deer hunting in the state of Virginia is an age-old tradition. But the sport is in jeopardy because a lot of clubs aren’t very good at following the state’s trespassing laws. The fact that we have deer hunters that release hounds on private property plagues us as a whole. But if we’re not careful we could lose the sport of dog hunting altogether.

In the link provided you will see that dropping off dogs near private property is a risky move. Read up on the laws to see if you’re putting the tradition of dog hunting in the crosshairs.

Snag a Hoodie

The CVA Outdoors hoodie was a success as soon as we launched the product. This Carharrt Rain Defender hood comes with a small price tag, but worth it. We will special order you one during the Fall and Winter months, but the cost of goods and embroidery push the price mark up about to $100.

As many of our audience members know, we started our brand using social media videos.

Mossy Oak Relies on Truth

As we aimed for structured content and branding, we studied various brands we admired. And that led us to the mothership of all outdoor-lifestyle brands — Mossy Oak.

It was a given for us. Mossy Oak embodies the roots of hunting and being outdoors. Their camo is dope and they cornered the outdoor-lifestyle brand market with some very sleek moves regrading intellectual property rights. But what makes Mossy Oak special?

What separates Mossy Oak from the pack is their obedience to honor God. We have no ties with Mossy Oak or it’s founder Toxey Haas. However, while studying brand archetype personaities we spotted something peculiar within the brand’s message. And that was the owner’s ability to place his respect towards God in the forefront of his business.

With that said as we’ve built CVA Outdoors, we’ve kept in mind that maturity is essential to sustain. Meaning, we are now aware that despite any scholarly descriptions of branding that float around the internet, the primary ingredient a great brand’s message is the Truth.

AR-15 Grendel Conversion for Deer Hunting

Modifying an AR-15 For Deer Hunting

After multiple discussions with friends, we found much of what we’ve discussed here in this article. It’s regarding the conversion of an AR-15 556/223 to a Grendel. Most of the guys around here are from Virginia. But if you’re new and you need the tips, there’s a also a great link at the bottom that’ll get you going on understanding the conversion.

But we’ll start with the nuts and bolts.

When it comes rifles, like many, hunting with shotguns was the only thing I knew. There was no knowledge other than plinking beer cans with an old bolt-action twenty-two.

Since I grabbed a Smith & Wesson M&P II sport a couple years back, I figured I’d play catch up with the boys. The boys at the hunt club turned me onto researching either a Grendel 6.5 or Blackout 300.

On that note, we’re not going to waste any time talking a about. Go here: excellent primer and starter guide on the Grendel 6.5

Takeaways

The 6.5 Creedmor requires an AR-10 lower receiver. These 6.5’s are not the same.

You can convert your AR-15 into a 6.5 Grendel using a Grendle upper with your existing AR-15 lower.

Other Possible AR-15 Setups

– 6.8 SPC II

* There may be others, but this is where we started.

Many thanks to Sean, Hal & David for the research. Appreciate it.
